Application

CRETE GUARD is sprayed directly on to colorbond, painted steel, raw or painted aluminum, plastic and vinyl, so it is ideally suited to site equipment, that needs complete protection on its surfaces including lights, operation and hazard labels, fleet numbers etc.

CRETE GUARD dries to give a semi gloss non stick finish, that will last up to 3 years in outdoor conditions.

Maintenance

Equipment treated with Crete Guard can be washed using a mild detergent and a cold water pressure cleaner, 1500-2000psi to remove any dirt or grime. To remove Graffiti / Concrete splash or other self bonding contaminants, surface must be pressure cleaned using HOT water, 75degC – 95degC and 2000-3000psi pressure (30deg – 45deg fan nozzle at 100mm distance)

During this process, some of the Crete Guard surface coating washes off, with its bonded contaminant. After surface has been washed and dried completely, Re- Apply Crete Guard (2 or 3 light coats) for optimal protection

Let's first look at the typical conditions that a truck endures during its life as a Concrete delivery vehicle.

1. Truck gets loaded 5-7 times per day and usually the back end and chassis gets rinsed each time to remove cement, dust, spills, washing down chutes, etc.

2. Each week it is washed (usually with harsh cleaners including acid) to remove build up and stuck on lime and ad-mixture contaminants.

In these working conditions even the best primer/topcoat combinations WILL FAIL prematurely.

So how does CRETE GUARD protection work?

CRETE GUARD is a semi-sacrifical coating that has an extremely low surface energy.Virtually no electrical conductance and it is enriched with MCI's Migratory Corrosion Inhibitors, the latest weapon in corrosion protection.

Factory painted chassis on modern trucks are not designed to be used in the concrete truck game without any extra protection, modern painting systems allow only for average normal use conditions. In short, a concrete truck will be exposed to more moisture/chemicals/abrasion in its first 12 months, than a normal body truck would in 5 years.
